Telemedicine incorporates the union between technology and medicine being at the service of the person. The advancement of new information and communication tools has had an impact in all areas of medicine. Particularly in family medicine, it opens several opportunities in services such as: teleconsultation, telemonitoring for chronic diseases, telecare for skin problems, telecare for children, telecare for pregnancy and the puerperium, telecare for mental health, teleprevention, telerehabilitation, in addition to training possibilities, referral, consultation and home care. Telemedicine cannot be a substitute, but a powerful companion for medical care, allowing us to provide the integral services that the specialty offers to its population.
