This article reports an innovative experience of mounting a traveling exhibition of photographs, which was held at the Community Health Center of Novo Aarão Reis, Municipality of Belo Horizonte, in Minas Gerais. It aims to present a form of construction, rescue, and maintenance of memory, history, and identity of the community residents, as it transforms the perception of residents about themselves and the world around them. Furthermore, it exposes these residents to others from elsewhere in our vast “global village”, giving rise to the perception of the community and the legitimacy of belonging to the Novo Aarão Reis, not only in a physical way, but also imaginatively, “simply being and belonging”.Downloads
