Problem: Obesity is a public health problem with an exponential increase in prevalence, demanding innovative and effective intervention strategies, with primary health care being a strategic space for this practice. The Nova Esperança II Health Unit, located in Parnamirim (Rio Grande do Norte – RN), did not have any group, given the context of the pandemic and the large population coverage area, making it difficult to develop activities. Therefore, the eMulti team, in collaboration with the unit’s team, which includes residents, started creating a group. This article reflects on the creation and development of this group. Method: This is an experience report regarding the creation of an Obesity group, “Health in Focus,” at the health unit, using an approach with the person-centered clinical method (PCCM) and cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT). Results: The Health in Focus group proved to be an important tool for collective approach, integrating the community and bringing the population closer to health services. Furthermore, it was even more comprehensive than the Obesity approach, helping patients to understand themselves in a comprehensive way and beyond their illnesses, leading to improvements in their health that they could perceive and report. Conclusions: The Health in Focus group contributed to improving access to healthcare, popular education, the practice of healthy habits, and increasing ties with the community.
