Dispositivo Intrauterino en la Atención Primaria de Salud

El embarazo no planificado es una realidad mundial y representa el 40% de todos los embarazos y puede desencadenar un aumento de la mortalidad materna. El Dispositivo Intrauterino (DIU) es una de las opciones anticonceptivas que ofrece el SUS con buena eficacia, pero aún se utiliza poco.Varios países desarrollados han estado buscando formas de romper barreras y aumentar las tasas de inserción de DIU, como capacitación profesional, inversiones en el área y educación de la población. Este estudio tiene como objetivo realizar una revisión integradora de la literatura sobre artículos relacionados con los DIU en Atención Primaria de Salud (APS) en los últimos diez años. Las búsquedas se realizaron en Pubmed, Scielo, LILACS y BDENF-Enfermagem utilizando descriptores relacionados. Se incluyeron publicaciones que abordaron el DIU en la Atención Primaria de Salud y publicaciones de los últimos diez años. Se consideraron artículos resultantes de investigaciones originales, revisiones y protocolos clínicos o de aprendizaje. Luego de utilizar los criterios de inclusión y exclusión, se seleccionaron 39 artículos que fueron parte de la revisión, los cuales fueron agrupados en categorías. Los temas que más se repitieron fueron los siguientes: Barreras para la inserción del DIU, Capacitación profesional, Conocimiento sobre DIU, Tasas de inserción y continuación y Otros. Entre los artículos, solo dos eran nacionales. Se concluye que existen pocos estudios nacionales que abordan el DIU en la APS y que entre los estudios encontrados existe una preocupación por identificar barreras y estrategias para ampliar la oferta del método.
